I am passionate about developing innovative consumer products that push design and my skill set to higher levels. Project 1
Final Year Project
Cost of care is soaring, and availably of carers is increasingly challenging. Research shows that people with upper mobility and dexterity impairments lose their independence and become reliant on carers to assist them with basic everyday tasks.
To prolong independence in the home, a product has been designed to be used in a domestic bathroom setting with minimal installation. It will assist with personal, daily washing of the body and hair.
With detachable attachments, extendable reach, and alternative grips it has been designed so that the user can operate it independently and it is capable of being adapted to their own impairment. The user can operate the device independently reducing the need for a carer to support with the most personal of tasks, restoring dignity and independence.
Project 2
Popcorn Machine
Designed to match a brief set by an external company, create a unique popcorn machine. This design has a USP that encourages using popcorn as a healthier snack option with healthy flavourings sold separately to be added in the cooking process, dividers can be added to allow multiple users to select different flavours.
Placement Year
From August 2022 -2023 I did a year in Industry at Shark Ninja, specifically working in the Shark Beauty NPD Engineering Team as a Product Design Engineering Intern. I worked on the Shark Flex Style, Shark Speed Style and Shark Smooth Style, by doing technical testing, rapid prototyping user testing. Additionally, later in the year I became the lead engineer on a couple of key accessories for the 2024 Haircare project. Shown above is a solo side project, an automated air velocity and heat testing rig , with 3 movable axis, computer connected results and graphable results it improved the in-house testing capability in the London office.
Project 3
UX Design
A recent group initial project and solo final UX project, to encourage energy saving inadvertently by helping young, at-home workers find friends and leave the house. The ‘unplugged’ app provides a platform for users to take part in pre-organised activities or organise their own activities and form a local friendship group.
Project 4
Coffee Machine
From an initial individual project to design a coffee press integrating an AeroPress Coffee maker to a final group project where a working article was produced and tested, includes FEA analysis and technical drawings.
Project 5
DFM Module
Injection moulding group project that allowed me to experience CNC mould block creating via SOLIDWORKS Toolpath creation, insert fabrication, design for injection moulding and physical injection moulding.
Project 6
Live Projects
This is an air purifier designed specifically for domestic urban areas, to encourage healthy air in polluted cities and HMO properties. Designed within a week for FSM Design consultancy brief. Includes and internal view, structural exploded view, renders and sketches.
Personal Project 7
Personal Artwork
In my spare time I enjoy practicing abstract acrylic painting. This entails some large commissions, smaller prints upon request and experimentation with new media.
